5th Annual Garrard County Earth Day Festival Schedule of Events

- 11:00am to 1:00pm: Live Broadcast Hometown Radio Network WRNZ fm 105.1 – Fairgrounds
- 10:00am to 5:00pm: The Ballad of Thoreau – Walden Woods. Video playing continuously in Exhibition Hall.
- ?: Magic Bubble Truck, Check it out at www.bubbletruck.com
- ?: Recycled Hat Fashion Show. All ages welcome, prizes awarded! – Main Stage. Come early to create a hat at the festival or make one at home. The hats need to include some recycled materials. They can be made from old cereal boxes, any cardboard, or by using an old hat. Decorate with flowers made from plastic bags, bottle caps, or anything that may have normally been thrown out. Get your creativity in gear and have fun!
- ?: Somerset High School Raptor Club will be showing off their incredible “Birds of Prey Exhibition.”
- ?: Tom Myers will be on-hand with his amazing ‘BUG’ Collection from all over the world.
- ?: Andrew Fore will have a Polar Bear Exhibit check it out at www.andrewfore.com
- ?: Pattie A. Clay’s Free Health Clinic
- ?: Professional Caricaturist, Rob Maystead , will be on hand to create drawings of you, your family, and pets – Bring Photos
- ?: Ronald McDonald Magic Show, and he will be collecting your aluminum flip-top can lids for the Ronald McDonald House
- Special Appearances by: The Miss Kentucky Teen Winners!
** FREE GARDEN SEEDS and FREE TREES will be available while supplies last**
!! Solid Waste and Global Environmental Services (GES) will be meeting you recycling needs !!
ALL DAY LONG: Recycling Drop Off. Taking plastic 1 & 2, newspaper, paper, cardboard, steel cans, eyeglasses. Aluminum cans will benefit Habitat for Humanity!
ELIGIBLE ELECTRONICS FOR DROP OFF: radios, cell phones, telephones, VCR/DVD players, microwaves, computers, cameras, game consoles.
Yes, TVs will be collected this year!
