Join us for the 5th Annual Garrard County Earth Day Festival, organized by The Earth Angels & Community Hearth Inc. This year boasts not only our fabulous festival on Saturday, April 17th. Bring your friends and family down to the Garrard County Fairgrounds for this FREE event and get in on the fun!

Event Highlights:

  • We’ll be taking recycling all day long! Bring your cans, bottles, paper, plastic, metal, and even electronics!
  • Fun and educational demonstrations, displays and workshops.
  • Live music and entertainment.
  • A fabulous recycled hat fashion show!
  • Much, much more!

Enjoying the Earth Day Festival!

TEACH, The Earth Angels and Community Hearth, Inc. will be accepting requests for grant money to be spent on developing displays or activities the Fifth Annual Earth Day Festival on April 17, 2010. One of the goals of this grant is to create reusable displays with emphasis on environmental education that will be used at various community and school events, in addition to the Earth Day Festival. Other costs that will be eligible include workshop materials, educational materials to be distributed, game and activity construction materials and supplies.

A partial list of subjects that will be considered are: Resource Conservation, Alternative Energy, Pollution, Water Shed, Healthy Eating, Climate Change, Organic Gardening, Green Building, Wildlife, and creative uses of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This is open to all groups or individuals.

Requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis until funds are depleted with all requests to be made no later than April 10,2010. To apply: Please send a letter stating what you plan to do and the expected costs. Include how this relates to Earth Day and how it will leave a lasting impression.
